The Hosokiri Cleaver is our interpretation of a smaller Japanese-style kitchen cleaver, blending traditional influence with a rugged, purpose-driven design. Hand-forged from a reclaimed leaf spring, the 5 1/2” (9 3/4” overall) blade boasts a forged-in distal taper highlighted by a brute de forge finish. Its minimalist Wa-inspired handle is a blend of maple with an ebony centerpiece, featuring softened edges while maintaining the clean lines of traditional Wa forms. Hand-finished and sharpened on Japanese whetstones, the Hosokiri excels at a wide range of kitchen tasks while remaining durable enough to perform in the field when needed.
